SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION
The Hungarian Government has opened applications for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship for the 2023/2024 academic year.
This scholarship program was established in 2013, with the vision of providing foreign students with the opportunity to study higher education in Hungary. The program, which is overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and coordinated by Tempus Public Foundation, is based on educational agreements between Hungary and other countries. It aims to increase the number of international students in Hungary and encourage Hungarian tertiary institutions by attracting students from across various countries.
Study Levels
Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships are offered for a variety of educational programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, doctoral, non-degree programs (such as preparatory courses), and postgraduate specialist training courses. This particular application call is only for bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master’s, non-degree programs, and postgraduate specialist training courses. If you are interested in applying for a doctoral-level scholarship, you will need to refer to a separate application call here.
Study Modes
Students can choose between full degree and partial (exchange) study options, depending on the bilateral educational cooperation agreement between the sending country and Hungary. Full degree programs are those that result in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree, while one-year programs do not lead to a degree but provide preparation for a degree program.

➢ Tuition-free education.
➢ Monthly stipend until completion of studies, which amounts to HUF 43,700 (cca EUR 103).
