Africa Scholarship Programme at Wageningen University and Research

The Wageningen University and Research offer African youths the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree, through the Africa Scholarship Programme (ASP). The university seeks to facilitate capacity building in Africa by empowering talented and motivated African students in acquiring knowledge and skills across various subjects.

Requirements for the Africa scholarship programme


Only the following people are eligible for the scholarship programme;
1. Citizens of an African country.

2. Those who applied for any of the master’s programmes offered at Wageningen University & Research, and before the stated deadline. 

3. Students with excellent grades, first class honours degree or GPA  of above 80% in a Bachelor’s degree.

Important steps to consider

First Step: Apply for an MSc programme by February 1st, 2023.
If deemed qualified for the MSc Programme applied for, you might be invited to the Africa Scholarship Programme selected.

Second Step: Students who receive unconditional admission for an MSc Programme, will be assessed on the Africa Scholarship Programme by March 2023. Following this, on March 20, 2023, only selected students will receive an invitation by e-mail, to carry out an assignment that is to be submitted on the 3rd of April, 2023.

Candidates who successfully submit the assignment will be informed of their status (If they will be invited for an online interview or not). The interviews will be done through Skype, between April 20 and April 28, 2023.

Third Step: Candidates who participated in the online interview, will receive notifications of their status.
