Scholarship Details
The Australia Awards Scholarships are a long-term program run by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that aims to address the development needs of partner countries in accordance with bilateral and regional agreements. The program provides individuals from developing nations, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region, the chance to study full-time at Australian universities and TAFE institutions for undergraduate or postgraduate programs. The scholarship helps build the skills and knowledge of recipients so they can drive change and aid in the development of their home countries.

- Full tuition fee reimbursement
- Round-trip airfare (economy class, direct route to and from Australia)
- One-time establishment allowance to help with accommodation, textbooks, and study materials
- Fortnightly Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE) for basic necessities
- Compulsory Introductory Academic Program (IAP) to learn about living and studying in Australia
- Health insurance (OSHC) for the duration of the scholarship (excluding pre-existing conditions)
- Pre-course English (PCE) fees if needed for in-country or in-Australia training
- Additional academic support for academic success or a better academic experience
- Fieldwork support for eligible research students (research awards or Masters by coursework with a required research component) with a round-trip economy class airfare to their home country or within Australia.

In order to receive an Australia Awards Scholarship, applicants must sign an agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia that they will abide by the scholarship’s conditions.
After finishing the scholarship, scholars must depart from Australia for a minimum of two years. If they fail to do so, they will be responsible for paying back the total cost of their scholarship.

- Pacific: Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna, Middle East (Palestinian Territories)
- Africa: Algeria, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, The Gambia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe
